Speaking of dispositions,
as if we were,
I'd say his fits mine
as if it were designed
to my demanding specifications
for height, width and thickness,
resilience and resistance
to my barbed wit and teeth
during engagement/argument
as to who is on first and second;

if he wins, then I win
because he is a gift I earned
by being open to the notion
that more than a mouthful
is wasteful and one must seize
the moment to be thankful
for self-serving kindness
between best friends
blessed by a chance
to connect beyond skin.
