Looking For Galatea

On a weekend afternoon
never thought I'd hear from you.
As you slip along the edge
of a society that I once knew.

Headed to Jamacia.

I looked in the morning door
a smiling face like it was before
Her voice floating in the air
daylight in her golden hair.

Looking for Galatea.

I came down to the village green
near a grove of mystery.
Her kind voice by a camp fire flame
that's when I heard her call my name.

Headed to Jamacia.

All these years later on a high degree
I see must have found the key.
I saw her picture yesterday
She's still smiling down at me.

Looking for Galatea.

On a weekend afternoon
never thought I'd hear from you.
As you sneak along the edge
the border line that I once knew.

Headed to Jamacia.
Looking for Galatea.
Headed to Jamacia.

To Tom Walsh:

I should have known this name "Jamacia" (not Jamaica) would be a
problem. It goes way back to my poetry of 1977, I'll probably just cut
it, since the confusion and questions may not be worth the bother. The
only living person who probably even remembers is Petre Danae Wilso and
I doubt he even reads these posts.

Tom Walsh, thanks for the critique, it's actually made the story more
"accurate" since the two guys should be looking for the damsel in the
towers of Auderebro, rather than the land of crystal plums, "Jamaica".
Auderebro later became Shadowville, but that seems overused now 😃

Instrumental version of the song "Looking For Galatea":

Looking For Galatea

On a weekend afternoon
never thought I'd hear from you.
As you slip along the edge
of a society that I once knew.

Headed to Auderebro,
looking for Galatea.

I looked in the morning door
a smiling face like it was before
Her voice floating in the air
daylight in her golden hair.

Headed to Auderebro,
looking for Galatea.

I came down to the village green
near a grove of mystery.
Her kind voice by a camp fire flame
that's when I heard her call my name.

Headed to Auderebro,
looking For Galatea.

All these years later on a high degree
I see I must have found the key.
I saw her picture yesterday
She's still smiling down at me.

Headed to Auderebro,
looking for Galatea.

On a weekend afternoon
never thought I'd hear from you.
As you sneak along the edge
the border line that I once knew.

Headed to Auderebro.
Looking for Galatea.
Headed to Auderebro.
Looking for Galatea.
