Tomorrow receives
the roots
to these moments.

Your eyes
are closed now
to my soul.

Newspapers and radios
report
and they tell me
where your head is at.

I'm shooting
for between the eyes
fighting a dread
of a dismal future.

Very sad - the subject, not the poem. The poem is nice. There's enough ambiguity, with lines like "your eyes are closed," and "I'm shooting" etc., to get the reader involved, trying to figure out what happened.

It reminds a bit me of Robert Morpheal (you'll see his work over on alt.arts.poetry.urban, and a few other groups - he was driven off aapc long ago.).

No, because it looks like .you/ are doing the real slobbering here, sniffing behind posts that you have no real interest in.

In fact, you either haven't read or can't understand Zod's poetry from the clueless look of your spambot posts.

Hypocrisy would mean that I was doing the same thing I am accusing you of having done.

I accused you and Zod of using the group for a reciprocal marathon slurpfest.

And while you can claim that my complaint constitutes "slobbering" (which is not a synonym for "slurping," btw), it remains a complaint, and not in any way a "slurp" (praising someone's work as a means of stroking their ego -- often in return for, and in expectation of, reciprocal ego-strokes).

Therefore, your use of "hypocrite" is inappropriate.

Slurping, slobbering, sniffing behind, bumping... all are pretty much the same action... and you do them all at one time or another, Pendragon.

Yet you whine when others do these things, or similar actions.

No, Will, they aren't.

Slurping is a gratuitous, self-serving, usually reciprocal compliment.
Slobbering is ... not an internet term that I'm aware of.
Sniffing behind ... is a term you appear to have made up for anyone who leaves a negative comment on one of your threads.
Bumping is leaving a pointless comment on a "dead" thread in order to re-open it (thus moving it to the top of the "unread" list).
Post by Will Dockery
Yet you whine when others do these things, or similar actions.
I'm here for the poetry, Will. I don't appreciate having to click on 100 "Outdamnstanding"s and 100 "Thanks for the Nod,Zod"s in order to clear up all the threads that have been pointlessly "bumped" by you and your pooch.

Tomorrow receives
the roots
to these moments.
Your eyes
are closed now
to my soul.
Newspapers and radios
report
and they tell me
where your head is at.
I'm shooting
for between the eyes
fighting a dread
of a dismal future.
Commentaries on the poetrys glady and happily wanted...……………….
i know i am guilty of this self-same form of expression, but i find it clichéd, using/combining/comparing opposites/polarized ideas under the guise or aegis of being poetic, like tomorrow's present or yesterday's roots, although i know that last one was exactly an oxymoron.

i like your poetic format though.

oh okay.

well, i like it. i also respect it. i mean, i wouldn't be like, oooh, i like you so much, and then later be like, oh, it's just you.

i mean, i wouldn't express anything until i knew it was real.

like this guy told me about the kids' experience when a child star came to their school.

like each day, it got worse. from ooooohhh, to ohhh, to oh, to oh g-d...here he is again, type thing.

i mean, otoh, maybe that's what they experienced internally. that sort of makes sense.

i don't know. i was never friends with or in school with a celebrity, so i wouldn't know.

Some wear it well, some don't, but under

it's so awful for me, to think of people killing with guns.

like i tried, i don't know what it was. first saving private ryan, yesterday, couldn't do it, then django unchained, couldn't do it, then the color purple, that was okay, so i left it on, barely watching.

then django unchained was on again, and i caught the end, where he blows up the house. that was cool.

sometimes i just get hypersensitive to things. violence, in particular.

but i suppose if people were coming in here to attack and/or taking away our country...hell, i mean, if i had to protect my home with a gun, i would. i value my shelter. having a roof over my head. a room of my own. thank you g-d, jesus, america, mom and dad (set #2).

Yeah, my cable went out yesterday, so a buddy of mine who isn't a vet
invited me over to watch old war movies, because that's what was on,
in commemoration of Veterans Day. I told him no thanks. War sucks.

Okay, reading and writing are enjoyable
exercises in and of themselves for me,
and toking can enhance the experience.

Like now, I'm reading and writing with
you as we discuss the really huge bong
you imagine me puffing on right now.

Consider this a formal
meeting, ma'am. How do you do?
What do you consider NORML,
and was this good for you?

If I could have you here WITH me,
please don't think we'd ever KISS. We
MIGHT, in sight of all around,
and make a real loud KISSing sound,
so please be careful what you say,
and go have a wonderful day!

SMOOCH

i just saw this, for some strange reason.

the nazis are starting up again upstairs...i'm not sure if it was a little accident, or if they are planning on torturing me again today.

All the restaurants around here are either
offering free, or discounted food for vets.
Some places are so popular they have lines.

I have no idea what I want for lunch yet,
so I'll probably go stand in line somewhere,
and ask the other vets what they're having.

You didn't answer why you used Grey instead of Gray. Blue and the Gray. Grey's Anatomy. Greyhound. Gray matter. Confederate gray.

Tomorrow receives
the roots
to these moments.
Your eyes
are closed now
to my soul.
Newspapers and radios
report
and they tell me
where your head is at.
I'm shooting
for between the eyes
fighting a dread
of a dismal future.
Commentaries on the poetrys glady and happily wanted...……………….
i know i am guilty of this self-same form of expression, but i find it clichéd, using/combining/comparing opposites/polarized ideas under the guise or aegis of being poetic, like tomorrow's present or yesterday's roots, although i know that last one was exactly an oxymoron.
i like your poetic format though.
